For divers who wish to experience more challenging conditions than those offered overseas where they may have only dived in warm and/or clear waters, our UK Familiarisation Dive will usually include a check out pool dive to assess your level of comfort in the water as well as your diving skills.

Once completed we take you (usually at weekends) to a local dive site where we will provide you with the appropriate equipment which will include a thicker wet suit, hood and gloves. Upon entering the water you will experience a brief sensation of coldness(!) as the water enters the suit. Within one minute you will be comfortable again as your body adapts to the conditions and the suit traps the now body temperature water against your skin.

Additionally, the visibility can be poor in the UK so we will make sure you experience some low visibility to prepare you for the unexpected on a proper UK dive.

Course Requirements & Location

Ideally watch a UK dive video and complete a Refresher
pool dive (at Putney Leisure Centre) if appropriate.
Closest Inland dive site is 45 minutes from Kingston-upon-Thames
